GARDEN ANGEL
I'm just a novice gardener
A green thumb, I don't have
Yet, I planted a new garden
With lots of faith in hand
I planted tons of tulip bulbs
Pink lilies high and low
Not sure which end should be up
Or how deep that they should go
I planted thyme and daisies
Fragrant lemon balm and flox
Sweet rosemary, blue coral bells
And pretty four-o'clocks.
And all this time, an Angel
From heaven, shook her head
Sometimes let out a laugh or two
As she watched me work my beds
With work all done and worn out too
I retired for the night
I dreamed of my new garden
Hoping it would turn out right
The Angel couldn't let it go
She knew she'd have to help
If my garden were to grow
That I had planted all myself
She put on her long over-alls
Her funny garden hat
Took out her Angel garden tools
And begin the long night's task
She replanted all my daisies
My rosemary and my thyme
My lemon balm and lofty flox
In a short amount of time
She dug up all my tulip bulbs
And set them facing up
Replanted all my coral bells
And all my buttercups
She finally finished up her work
As the night sky turned to dawn
The Angel couldn't help but smile
At all the work she'd done.
Time has passed, and what a show
Spring tulips came up tall
Buttercups and lemon balm
Pretty daisies big and small
Lofty flox, rosemary, thyme
Pink lilies full of grace
What a wonderous site to see
They put a smile upon my face
As people pass my garden gate
They stand and stare in awe
That such a novice gardener.
Could grow anything at all
