DEAR ANGEL
I have a very special prayer
I hope that you will hear
It's for the Nations of the World
and their people everywhere
I am a proud American
I know of all the good, we do
Yet evil reigns in lands abroad
and in our own land too.
Some build their bombs and warp young
minds,
to be martyrs of their cause
They murder in the name of 'God'!
(Their religion has it's flaws)
In the Bible, God hath spoke
He says, 'Thou shalt not kill'!
We should be good Samaritans
and treat our neighbors well!
We aren't any different
from the Latinos or Chinese
the Arabs or the Russians
Africans or Japanese
We go about our daily lives
like people everywhere
We love our families and our friends
we all have loads to bear
As I say my heart-felt prayer
It's a big one, certainly
but I'm counting on your wisdom
please hear my solemn plea
I'm praying World Nations
open eyes and minds to see
That peace on Earth is possible
