DISPLAYING
YOUR BEARS

.
TEDDY'S
AT HEART
We started
small...as small things do
with some
antiques and teddy bears..just a few...
Then our
house began to fill and fill!
Why, we
even had teddies on the window sill!
In every
room our house began to look...
More and
more like a storybook!
Bears and
stuffies sitting all around!
always fuzzy,
warm and smiling... never making a sound!
Then one
day, laughter suddenly arose!
Not from
our teddies... But from our visitors, I suppose!
Smiles were
many... As friends and family came to see...
Our house
full of teddies, my husband and me!
We have
so many orphans now... We don't know what to do!
All we can
think of... is to SHARE them all with YOU!

Having so many bears I have
come up with several ways to display them. Simply lining my shelves with
them side by side is ok, but I wanted to be a bit more creative with them.
Since I had purchased Peterboro baskets from QVC, I set some of my smaller
bears in the baskets with ivy and floral arrangements. These look nice
as center pieces. I also use the larger bears in the taller baskets and
sometimes drape some lace or pretty cloth over the back of the basket to
accent the bears. I set these in a corner or by a chair for a nice accent.
My favorite idea is to set the little ones up the staircase.I also arrange
them in chairs with some of my larger dolls, sometimes with an afghan draped
over the back. Of course they are always a cute addition to the door wreath
as well. They just seem to add so much warmth to a room. I rearrange them
on occasion and I never tire of them. I have included some pictures (shown
above) of our bears taken by my old "tired" camera.......sigh, just hope
ya can see 'em ok. Shari

I collect old wooden crates which
are great for displaying the bears. In addition, I prop them on my living
room couch (we don't let the dogs in there). I hang the small ones on pegs
which are attached to small shelves.... Thanks to CVPW

I love my Boyds Bears which I
have only recently started collecting. I sometimes work at my home office,
so I have "decorated" my office with Bears. I have bears sitting on chairs,
minature chairs, minature bike, in bookcases and on my desk. It makes my
office a great place to be and I love working in there.......Thanks to
Shirley

I have many Boyds & other
bears, and like to arrange them in antique wooden trunks. I put cardboard
boxes inside the trunk to bring the height up (so the bears aren't buried
inside the box!), cover it with a country check cloth and then start arranging
my bears. They really look cute all snuggled next to each other, sitting
on each other's laps, and some are even hanging out of the trunk.........Thanks

I have so many 1st editions, my
husband built me wooden valances over my bedroom windows to hold all the
resin ones because of my grand kids. He also made me a big wagon where
my bears sit, all cuddled up with a huge bear he got years ago from a couple
that made bears for gifts.......Thanks to Bonita Martin of Goodman, MO

One of the ways I display my soft
Boyd's are peeking out over the top of a bookcase in our living room. Whenever
I go to a flea market, I find little toy wicker chairs, or even a small
table just in case I want to put one on my end table. Here in my office
on the window sill in front of me is the laptop bear and he makes me chuckle
because next to him is the bear with her blueberry pie and he is so engrossed
in his computer, he doesn't even notice... (My husband is like this.) ......Thanks
again Bonita : )

Here's a display idea from me:
get an old wash tub and strip one of your large-clothed bears. Set his
clothes in a pile so they're visible, and set him in the tub. Buy some
of that cotton stuffing from a craft store, and fill it in so that it looks
like bubbles, even placing some on his head. Then attach a bar of lye soap
or a scrubber with a rubber band. This makes and ABSOLUTELY adorable display
inside the bathroom. You could also have a large-girl bear like Clarissa
or Lisa bathing a smaller dressed bear like Eddie Beanberger, or Huck,
with their clothes laid aside, and the girl bear's sleeves rolled up........
Thanks to Erick.

I recently visited Boyds bear
Country in Gettysburg PA. It is a wonderful place! I wanted
to use the shopping bag, which is a large brown paper bag with a boyds
bear country logo on it. So I put a box in the bag and arranged some
bears "Looking out of the top," one bear, Eggbert is even lowering
a small bear out of the bag using yarn. And F.O.B. 2003 bear, Allison
Rose is climbing out of the bag all by herself! It makes a
terrific "just got back from Boyds shopping" display!
