Easter Tips :-)
Before you cook your eggs, check them for freshness. Fill a pan with water, enough to float an egg. Gently place egg into water....If it sinks to the bottom it is fresh, if it floats......it is not good. Remember The Dead Man Floats!
Don't have food coloring and want to decorate eggs?............Start with hard-boiled eggs and clip bits of color from magazines or use colored tissue paper etc and paste onto eggs with Elmer's white glue, or use glue stick. You can arrange the bits of paper to make different designs. Also bits of paper and yarn can be used to create Egg Animals........Nail stickers or nail art are also a cute way to decorate the eggs. This gives the kids a way to be creative and they love it! (especially the Egg Animals)
Easter Egg hunts outdoors is great fun. Usually the eggs are hidden early in the morning before the little ones arrive. To keep the egg clean (while it is hiding in it's secret place) place the egg into a Bake Cup (cupcake paper) This keeps the egg a little cleaner for those tiny hands.
A really cute centerpiece is a clear glass bowl or vase filled halfway with jelly beans (used in place of the clear floral marbles) with artificial spring flowers tucked in for a bouquet. You can also arrange artificial grass around the base of the bowl if you like. Clear Votives with spring colored candles can be used to accent each place setting as well. (I use a different colored candles at each place setting) Use spring colors in napkins, table cloths, etc. to complete the spring look. Napkins can be tied with bits of raffia or curling ribbon holding a miniature spring flower. Use your imagination, your guests (and family) will appreciate it and think you've gone to a lot of trouble just for them.
NOTE: Please have a
safe holiday, being careful when using candles around paper napkins, paper
tablecloths or paper decorations.
