Judges 5:25 ..... = 1/2 c butter
Jeremiah 6:20 .....= 1 1/2 c sugar
Isaiah 10:14 ..... = 3 eggs
I Kings 4:22 ..... = 2 c flour
Luke 13:21 ..... = 2 t baking powder
I Kings 10:10 ..... = spices: cinnamon, mace, cloves (see notice)
Leviticus 2:13..... = 1/2 t salt
Genesis 43:11 .....= 1/2 c water, OR Judges 4:19.....=1/2 c Milk
Proverbs 24:13 ..... = 1 T honey
I Samuel 30:11 ..... = 1 c figs, 1 c raisins
Genesis 43:11 .....= 1/2 c almonds
Directions for mixing cake: Follow Solomon's advice for making good boys..... (Proverbs 23:14)..... BEAT WELL.
Blend butter, sugar, spices and salt. Beat egg yolks and add. Sift in baking powder and flour, then add the water(or milk) and honey. Put fruit and nuts through food chopper and flour well. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Bake for one hour in 375 degree oven.
NOTE: This recipe did
not give specific measurements for the spices.
