SAUSAGE CHILI
4 to 6 servings
1 lb Bob Evans or Jimmy Dean roll sausage
1 cup diced onions
3 to 4 rounded tsp. chili powder, according to taste
1 rounded tsp. ground cumin
3/4 tsp. garlic powder (optional)
1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
1 can (15oz) light red kidney beans, including liquid
3/4 cup water
1. Brown and crumble sausage in large skillet.
2. Add onions and cook until tender and sausage is no
longer pink.
3. Carefully drain off excess drippings.
4. Add seasonings and blend with sausage mixture.
5.Add remaining ingredients and simmer over medium-low
heat for 20 to 25 minutes.
May garnish with shredded cheese and/or diced spring onions
Can substitute hot style roll sausage if desired
Refrigerate leftovers
