WHEAT ROLLS
Betty Baldwin's recipe

2 cups wheat flour

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 tsp. salt

1/4 cup sugar

1 egg

3/4 cup scalded milk

1 1/2 Tbsp. butter or margarine

1 pkg. dry yeast

1/4 cup warm water

 

Mix yeast with the 1/4 cup of warm water, set aside
Scald milk and blend in sugar, butter and salt until sugar dissolves.
Add the yeast and egg.
In large bowl,combine flours and yeast mixture. Beat vigorously.
Form into shape and knead dough for 5 minutes.
Let rise covered till twice it's size.
Shape into rolls and place in greased pan. Let rise again.
Bake at 375 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes.
Use toothpick to check doneness.
